List of 8 K-pop Songs I'd Rather Watch than Listen

I find K-pop super interesting. I know it gets a lot of flack, but really, if you're a music snob what are you looking at K-pop for? I enjoy the colorful, flashy videos and the mindlessly catchy tunes. Also, since I don't speak a lick of Korean, I find them to be excellent driving music.

K-pop has been described as music for your eyes. In this list, I compile 8 songs I find just OK to listen to, but with the video I enjoy them a whole lot more because the dance just added so much to the music. Note, this does not include drama MVs.

1) BTS : Boy in Luv

2) T-ara : Cry Cry

3) EXO : Overdose

4) Girl's Generation : Oh!

5) After School : Flashback

6) SHINee : Sherlock

7) 9MUSES : Ticket

8) B.A.P. : One Shot

List of 8 Shows I Loved as a Kid

Pretty self explanatory title. I loved watching TV as a kid, and these shows were my favorites. Lots of time well spent rotting my brain away in front of the television set. Oh yes.

1) Sagwa - The Chinese Siamese Cat

Lots of Chinese children's stories being told using a cat. What's not to like? It had only one of the most awesome opening songs ever too I might add.

2) Arthur

And I say hey! Hey! What a wonderful time of day....So yea, Arthur. And the Brain, and Buster, Francine, D.W., Mary Jane Crosswire...how can anyone not like Arthur? It's chalked full of references I didn't get until I was older. Plus he's an aardvark. Be honest, would you have had any clue something existed called an aardvark if it wasn't for Arthur?

3) Totally Spies

When was a kid, I wanted their life. I mean, they live in Beverly Hills, are super rich, and get to skip class to fight crime. That's as perfect as it gets. Plus they're best friends who get to live together in a huge mansion. Ugh.

4) Code Lyoko

Weird 3D computer animation and freakishly large foreheads aside, this show was the bee's knees. It was a children's show but was legitimately exciting. Which kid hasn't dreamed of being in a computer game?

5) Powerpuff Girls

Does anyone NOT know these three bad-asses? I watched their show, I played their snowboarding game on cartoon network's website, and I even went to see their movie. So yea, I guess I kinda liked them. Just a bit.

P.S. Blossom is the best!

6) Teen Titans

Back then I didn't know they were supposed to be based on a comic book. I didn't even know Robin was connected with Batman. I just knew I really liked this show. They just don't make cartoons like this anymore. Except Young Justice...which they CANCELLED dhfvahfghagfahdkgf. Just a little upset by that...just a little.

7) Tom and Jerry

I remember being 4 or 5 years old and having a DVD set of Tom and Jerry. It might even have been a VHS set back then (gasp!). I watched them over and over and over. These two are just classic. If the show was airing today though we'll probably see a lot of "don't try this at home"warnings. Maybe PETA will just ban it for animal violence. Who knows.

8) The Magic School Bus

Every kid wanted their teacher to be Ms. Frizzle. I waited for science class to be this awesome. Too bad reality sucks. I have to say though, some of the stunts Ms. Frizzle pulled could probably get her sued for child endangerment.

List of 8 Popular Animes I Have Never Watched

People may argue that some animes on this list aren't even all that popular. Maybe, but they are the animes I have heard being talked about a ton, but have never actually seen or don't feel like watching. Should I watch them?

1) Fairy Tail

I have never watched the Fairy Tail anime. I have read a bit of the manga, but probably not even 5% of what is currently out now. I know what it's about but have no idea where the story has progressed to. I hear it's good though, and I really want to see it. Eventually.

2) Gintama

I have no idea what this anime is about outside of it being a gag anime. I think it's a gag anime. Is it? If it is I probably won't watch it since that's not really my thing. I wonder why it's so popular though. Or was, I don't hear this mentioned as much anymore.

3) Black Butler

I have a friend who LOVES Black Butler. This show is probably one of the most cosplayed ever too. I have no idea what it's about beyond the very ,very basic premise. And that's only for season one. How many seasons are there? Three? That's what I saw when I googled it anyway .

4) Beelzebub

I admit, I had to check what this show is actually called. I always thought it was Beezlebub. Close enough. I think it's about some demonic baby? And um...other folks? Who's the guy in the mustache? Is it an action? Comedy? Fantasy? Anyone?

5) Soul Eater

Um...I know there's a guy in here that turns into a scythe-type-thing. I think they have to gather souls (hence the name)? Other than that, I have no idea what this anime is. I have heard good things about though. Maybe I'll watch it someday.

6) Durarara!!

Ok, what the actual heck is this? I confess, I've seen like the first 2 episodes and then stopped. I was so confused. It was all so random. Why do people like this so much?

7) Neon Genesis Evangelion

Now isn't this one a classic. And I haven't seen a second of it. I know there's giant robots...who fight other giant robots? Why are they fighting? Who knows! I do have figurines of the girl with the brown hair though, so that's something I got going for me.

8) Naruto Shippuden

Well...kinda of. I have seen the original, normal Naruto series, but I haven't seen Shippuden. It's just them but older right? Why did they have to make a new series for it? I don't plan on watching this until it's completed. I feel like it's too convoluted to jump in now anyways.

So...what the heck are lists of 8?

Pretty much exactly what they sound like. This is where I will make lists of 8 things. Lists about...whatever I feel like really.

Why 8? Well, 8 is my lucky number...creative huh. Also, note that this is not a TOP 8 list. I'm too indecisive to actually rank anything. Feel lucky I can even decide on 8 things!

List of 8 Book Series I Like

Just a note before we start. Some of these books are self published, meaning the best way to read them is through an e-reader like the Kindle. Also, not all of these series are complete. In order to be on this list, I have to have read every book of the series that has come out so far.

I'm not going to go into to much plot summary, so I've linked the amazon pages to these books in their titles. Go read the book description on there to learn more! Plus, its an easy download link if you have a Kindle.

1) The Emperor's Edge Series

7 books
COMPLETE

I love this series. I love this series. Have I mentioned I love this series?

It seems that authors these days think that female lead needs to be cold, unfriendly, and stubborn in order to be strong (I'm looking at you Katniss Everdeen!). Amaranthe, the female lead of this series, is friendly, feminine, and strong as hell. This is a female lead done right (not that the Hunger Games did it wrong...I just prefer these types of heroines).

The dialogue is witty, the characters are lovable, and the story-line keeps you wanting more. Go read this series! Did I mention the first book is free for the kindle?

3 books
COMPLETE

In this series there's a popular, handsome chosen one, who sets off to save the beautiful damsel in distress. The main character is none of the above. He's just some guy. But he's an amazingly dorky and lovable guy who you get to watch morph into a bad-ass.

The fight scenes in this series are incredible. It is honestly one of the most original fantasy series I've read in a while.

2 books so far
INCOMPLETE

Speaking of strong female leads, Penryn is another great one. She is brave, relate-able, and doesn't have Katniss syndrome. Now you might be apprehensive about reading this series since its incomplete, but I can say that the second book doesn't end in a way that leaves you hanging. It pauses in a good spot to leave you wanting more, but not complete cliff-hanger status.

This series has no fillers, takes no breaks, and doesn't add in unnecessary detail. Its a pulse-pounding, blood-rushing epic from start to finish. And my favorite part? It takes place in the area I'm from!

4 books so far
INCOMPLETE

Ok, so this series isn't really called "The Thief". However, I think the actual series title is kind of a spoiler to the first book, so I'm just going to leave it as this.

Don't let the first book of this series fool you. The style of the rest of the series is completely different, as in the-second-book-is-written-in-third-person-while-the-first-book-is-written-in-first-person different. But the first book is still decently good and you need to read it in order to understand the rest of the series. My personal favorite is the third book, followed closely by the second.

This series again is also incomplete, but does not end on a cliff-hanger. You know there's a bigger pictured that will be addressed in a future book, but as of now, you are fine just leaving this series as is.

3 books
COMPLETE

This series is one of the first I read when I first got my Kindle. I loved the world, the characters, and the action driven story-line.

Now, this series is probably not for everyone, especially if you are easily offended or squeamish about violence. On the other hand, if you aren't go ahead and enjoy a great story about an orphan who morphs into one of the greatest assassins that ever was.

INCOMPLETE

This series is a modern take on some classic fairy tales.

The first book is definitely the weakest of the bunch, and I found it quite predictable. However, I still enjoyed it immensely. What I love the most about this series is that a new set of characters are introduced every book, leading up to an awesome amalgamation of epicness. Each book is better and more exciting than the last, and the stakes just keep rising. I really hope the 4th (and I believe final) book lives up to this trend.

INCOMPLETE

This series is one of the most original action/fantasy/(sci-fi?) books I have ever come across. It is also one of the most exciting. The main girl's life is turned upside down in every definition and re-definition of the word life.

Note that I am giving a cliffhanger warning for this series. Also, be warned that this series isn't as lighthearted as a lot of the other ones on my list. Some of the themes addressed in this series are abuse, addiction, and suicide. If you're in the mood for a pick-me-up, turn around and walk away.

Woot! Yet another series where the first book is free for the Kindle!

Now let me tell you something, vampire books aren't usually my thing. After the whole Twilight media craze, it was all aboard the blood-sucking bandwagon for a lot of authors and I had no interest in any of it.

Surprisingly, I really liked this series. It definitely does vampires in a whole other way than Twilight. Other than both of them containing romance the two series really aren't comparable as far as vampire books go. This series is dark, captivating, and has some great fight scenes.

Another great feature about this series is how self aware it is. The main guy is quite possessive, but knows that its a flaw and doesn't romanticize it. Stalking isn't cool kids!
